Crank,rods and rotating assemblys...

Who besides Eagle makes cranks, connecting rods or complete rotating assemblys in stock or stroked form for olds 455?

Eagle is the only one that offers a complete assembly,of the shelf. However, there are plenty of manufacturers for rods & pistons. The other option for new cranks, are custom billet, which are in the $2800.00-$3,000.00 range, just for the crank.

Yes,I understand they aren't for everyone. There is not anything else on the market that is comparable to the Eagle crank. It's either a factory crank or Eagle crank. Then you make the jump to the billet crank.

Isn't the Eagle crank a cast crank? What is the difference in the "N" crank and an Eagle, other than age of course?

Some say it's a crap-shoot.A new cast crank vs a 40yr-old nodular crank.

The Scat and Eagle cranks aren't really "cast". They're Nodular just like the stock stuff, but they have more nickel in them. The knock on Eagle is the sizing, not the quality of the "casting".
If I was doing a build and didn't have a 455 crank already or if I needed one drilled for a bushing I'd do an aftermarket one in a heartbeat. They're stronger than stock.
A Scat "Cast" BBC crank will take 600hp all day out of the box, I'm not sure I'd trust a 455 N crank with that task, not without lots of prep.
