Carb Gas Leak

I see a slight gas pool on the intake manifold. Is this due to a high float level? I left it dirty for picture purposes and have cleaned it up since. The engine starts right away when its cold but takes longer once it has been driven. I occasionally get a pop in the carb when starting only. Am I correct in assuming I am too far advanced? thanks

Could be incorrectly set float.
Could be damaged needle and seat.
Could be crap holding the needle open.
Could be excessive fuel pressure.
Could be loose screws on the air horn.
Could be a bad air horn gasket.
