Cam?

Is there anyway short of pulling the cam to see what the duration is? Judging by all the work a PO had done I suspect it has a cam and am wondering what it would be. Could you put some type of degree wheel on the crank, remove a valve cover, rotate the motor by hand, watch valves open and close and see the duration? Not that I would get around to it anytime soon, just wondering for now.

I would add, it has an Edelbrock Performer intake and carb plus Erson valve covers which would make me think that is the cam route they went.

You need a degree wheel and a dial indicator. Pull the valve cover and measure lift and duration that way.

Thank you, I don't know when I'll get to it but I'll know what I need and how.
