Advice, Info and Input on a 455 I just found

Hi All,
I've been toying with the idea of building a motor for my Olds, (keeping the original stock and off to the side) and have been searching around to see what's out there. I found a running 72 455 out of a Cortez front when drive motor home for $100. Does anyone have any idea, if this would just be a standard motor? I want to be able to buy and install parts on it/trans to it the same as if it was out of a Cutlass.
Goals for the engine would be a reliable, drivable, medium performance build.
It seems interesting, and a good deal, but I'm a little skeptical of unforeseen issues. Just though I'd check with you all.
anyone??
Thanks in Advance!

Should be essentially a standard motor, cam and carb may be different, low compression.

Motor home motors lead a hard life, though.

I'm sure it's led a hard life,..but the idea is to go through the whole thing, so it shouldn't really matter. Obviously if I don't have to buy every single internal that would be great, but......
If the cam and carb are the only two things that are different from standard, that's obviously no sweat.
What would the big valve heads be that year? GA?

Then for $100, go buy it now. You pretty much can't go wrong, especially if it runs.

Duh... Good point.

I'll probably try to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. If anyone else knows anything about these, please let me know.
Thanks!

Did you say front wheel drive?
If so, a Toro drivetrain then, yes?
100 bucks would be a sweet deal.
