72 Cutlass S 350 to 455 swap intake question.

Hello everyone. Thanks for all the help so far. I'm getting things done slow but I'm still moving. The main thing slowing me down is getting information to get things right since it's my first Olds car. Question is, after I drop the 455 in using the 350 frame mounts and engine mounts is it true I will have clearance issues with a aftermarket intake and carburetor? My hood is the original hood. I was looking at either the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake or the Performer. The carb will most likely be a edelbrock 750 - 850 cfm 4 barell. Also what headers will work with my car and the 455 upgrade? 72 Cutlass S. Thank you all for being there during my learning process, you guys are the best!!! If you guys have a good intake and carb combo for a weekend car let me know. The car will never see the track and the motor I picked up is a 72 block with Ga heads. No history on the motor but before I bought it, was in a classic ford F-150 and it sounded healthy. My guess is the block is either original or has a stock rebuild but it's just a guess. Open to any suggentions..

The engine sits in the same place with the 350 mounts as it would with the 455 mounts. There will be no issue with hood clearance with an aftermarket intake...been there, done that.

Just get headers for a 455 and you're set.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Any clearance issues will be only due to the intake, carb, and air cleaner that you select and have nothing to do with your choice of motor mounts.

Thanks for the replies. Then my next question is what is a good carb and intake combo that's proven to work with my car and the hood can shut? Good street performance too.

The air-gap will fit, but a air cleaner won't.
The performer is a good choice, and a 3310-2 Holley 750 works well, too!
Re-jet the carb, and re-curve the distributer for optimum HP!

E-brock Performer manifold.

Somewhere on this site I can't remember the thread but they said the performer flows the same as the iron stock manifold, only difference it's lighter, is this true? I want my bolt ons to make more power than stock. What do you think?
