Aurora 3.5 Front End

Aurora 3.5 Front End
I'm Back again. Seems every 6 months or so something else breaks down...
My 01 Aurora 3.5 has 76000 miles on it. I have already replaced a leaking rack and pinion at 65K and a front axel about a yr ago.
New Years Day was about 24 degrees. Took the car out, no problem until I went to parallel park, could not turn the wheel from a dead stop. When I got home, I checked the power steering reservour and it was empty. Filled it with power steering fluid and 5 days later, the wheel again is very difficult to turn. NO leaks on the garage floor. I have not checked the level again, although I will later today.
Is it worth replacing the power steering unit? Or just call it quits with the car and move on. The rest of the car is in VG condition, no scratches, no hits, good tires, I just don't know if now the nickel and diming starts.
I had a 94 Olds LSS that I ran for over 229K miles until the A/C unit went, and that repair was more than the car was worth. SO, do I cut my loss now, or keep it? Has anyone else had front end trouble? Seems that steering has been an issue with this model.

Have you priced a power steering pump at your local auto parts store? If your rack and pinion is malfunctioning again then hopefully you have a warranty on the part so you can get a new one for free. If you are good with tools it shouldn't be too hard to replace a power steering pump. Surely it wouldn't take more than a weekend to do it.
