Redog, did you add those taillights later on?

I have only seen those on 81-83 deltas.

I see that you have the 85 royale split grille, for the royale and not the one piece silver waffled one for the brougham or wagon.
so if it's a royale, your lights should have been half yellow I believe.

I def think the 81 lights look cooler on that body style than the 1/2 n 1/2s though.

I own or have owned one from every year from 80-85 except 82
....My fave Olds'.....

If ya have an 85 Royale, 442.com says there are only 15002 out there.
What number and plant is yours from......They might just share a birthday.

Yes perhaps quite a bit older. I wonder how the plant numbering system went. If there were only 15,002 2door royales made among 7 different plants.
It wouldn't make sense for them to make a 2door royale brougham and then a 4door royale, and then a 2 door royale on the same assembly line, all with different colors and options.
There had to be at least some degree of organization. Say like.... 2 weeks of building the maroon interior Royale broughams, then 2 weeks of 4doors, etc etc.
I wish I knew a Detriot plant worker that built these things. I'm sure there'd be some great and interesting stories of using BFH's massive bondoing of effed up panels, and crazy stuff like that. "Stay away from #383455 .....that one is a real P.O.S."
"Bob Johnson just had his first son and we were drunk as hell when we built that one on an overtime monday."

No

It was torn down not too long after this pic was taken. That was in '05, I think, and the buliding was supposed to be down before I was out there, but we were lucky (all us Alero guys took pics in front of the building and on the side)

That is a bummer that they tore down that Oldsmobile building. Wouldn't it be cool if you could contact GM and buy that big Oldsmobile logo from them. I bet those things end up in scrap yards. That would be an awsome addition to your den or garage.

That is cool. I wouldn't want my garage or den to become a tourist attraction. Even if it was a bunch of Olds guys coming buy to visit.

That would be SWEET! After a couple of pictures I would have an entire J2 tri carb set up. Then maybe someone would hook me up with a driver's side dual exhaust manifold for the 394. There are so many possibilities.
