Have a 69 Olds 442-Need pixs of original side mirror and Air cleaner

Just bought a 1969 Olds 442 and it has a remote-type driver side mirror that needs replacing. Wanted to ensure that I use a period correct one. Can somebody share a photo of their remote-type driver side mirror for this year 442 (not Hurst/Olds) if they know its the original one?

Also need to know what the air cleaner on these cars looked like. Mine has an edelbrock on it. Any dimensions that I should be looking for to ensure its the right one? Have a 401 ci.

Many thanks

Rick

Did you mean it has a 400? 401 is a Buick motor.

Only prob here is he says it fits 68-70. That cant be true as the 68-69 doors are way different than 70-72s. Thats a loto coin too.

Here are two different angles on my '68. '68-69 are the same. The non remote mirrors are reproduced but the remote ones are not.

I may have a good used one but will need to dig around for it. The 68-69 and 70-72 look very similar, but the base where it bolts to the door is narrower on the 68-69 ones. So if you find one be sure and check that measurement.

Adam, thanks for the photos. Looks like the one on my car. Got one from Billions & Trillions, but not sure its working (the remote part) well.

John, if you find yours let me know. Any idea what you might want for it?

Thanks both,

Rick

Rick, I'm pretty sure I've got a couple of them. But let me dig them out and see what condition they're in before quoting a price. I'm 99% sure I can beat what Billions and Trillions charged for the one you've got. There's several members here who've purchased from them and not been happy with the transaction. John

Not only are the bases different between the 68-69 and the 70-72 remote mirrors, but the angle of the stem between the base and the mirror itself are completely different. If you install a 70-72 on a 68-69, the mirror will hit the glass due to the different angles.

I've been looking for a nice 68-69 remote mirror myself that has good chrome and no pitting. They are scarce. The 68/69 part number is 399519 and the 70-72 is 404549. Here is a link to pics of my mirror https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...or-mirror.html

John, put me on the list for a 68-69 mirrors if you happen to have two of them.

Adam, do you know what specific shade of blue is on your car? It looks similar to mine. In fact, I thought you lifted my pics from the thread I posted until I saw the all white interior and the 68 vent window

If the other posters are not interested, I might be in the market for a new side mirror. Slaughter how much for the driver side remote and the non remote they look like they are in pretty good shape.
