Stefano,
Interesting cable running to the back of it - is it a add on choke control? Also does it look like it might have the OE heater valve on it? Does it say "Dole Valve" or something else? Still trying to determine if the one that was on my car was in fact the original.

Hope to meet you in Brookfield.

Thanks, this is the second 0160. I can't read the body tag. It is a small attached image instead of a thumb nail.

Thanks, data added to the first post in the thread.

I also see B85 on the trim, don't see many of those.

I know the question is old but the RK was a manufacturing assist for the plant. It is much easier for the worker to read a two letter code than a part number.

If anyone has additional data on original cars please post a photo of the carb stamping and the build date.

For Trade Only - 2659

I have an 7040258 carb with 2659 date code (Sept 22, '69) that is confirmed and has been restored by Sparky and at this point has not been run on my engine. My car was built in early April '70 so I ideally need a 258 that is early Jan to end March '70 . I am looking to trade with someone in need of the 2659 . My carb is totally restored and could trade for one in the same condition or discuss some sort of exchange deal if yours isn't restored. PM me if interested. Thanks.

Good luck finding a trade partner and thank you for posting the ownership of a 2659 dated carb. Yours is only the second reported, mine is the other.

This carb on ebay has a date which I have not seen previously (2939). To me the stamping looks real. Thoughts? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Olds-4...8/133497014740 With this one we are now showing 8 dates for 7040258 production.

I have a service replacement 7040258 with a date code of 3366, so it was built on Wed, Dec 1, 1976. Notice the date code is placed where the date code was placed on production Oldsmobile Quadrajets of 1976 and no two letter alphabetic code because it's a service replacement

Just for interest, here's a pic of the date code on mine before it was restored.
