Intake, carb under OAI hood

From what I've heard you'll have to stick with a factory intake or the Edlebrock O4B which has been out of production for years. The O4B is aluminum but doesn't flow significantly better than the factory cast iron piece. There is an aftermarket air cleaner top that doesn't have a flapper in it, that will allow you to put on a taller intake. I tried a performer intake and then just glued a foam ring on the metal air cleaner base, I didn't install the plastic lid with the flapper. It doesn't look as nice, but functioned. Most of the guys on this site are partial to Quadrajets. If you get a good carb of the correct vintage and have it professionally rebuilt I think you'll be happy with it. My 2 cents worth. John

Oldsguy ran an O4B on his 69 Delta 88. It was a good intake. The worst part of it is that you can't run an HEI distributor with it.
