more pics

more pics. Two are before the new body and paint job. There was actually little rust on the car, just 2 existing patches that had to be cut out. I'm working on new interior and roof next. The 455 and tranny have had a fresh stock rebuild

ST 70 34467 E 434 BDY
TR 977 WA 4007 B PNT
11C A 31

* 70 = model year
* 34467 = Olds (3) 4-4-2 (44) convertible (67)
* E = An "E" in the VIN would mean the car was assembled at the Linden, NJ plant.
* 434= This is the body number. 434 would mean this was the 434th convertible "A" body assembled at the Linden plant for model year 1970.
* 977 = interior color and seating arrangement parchment (pearl white) bucket seats
* WA is the Dupont code for one of the 4 special order colors. Rallye Red was WA 4007.
*Convertible top color which is B is black top.
* 11 c= time build code. 11 is November and c is the thirdweek in that month.
* A31 = option code for power windows.

Nice car! Looks like a lot of effort going into it.
Have you found the engine ID number?If so, when was your cast?
My 455 engine block was cast Nov 1969, in KC. Probably out of a toro.
Car made in freemont ca and was 891 off the line in Aug 1969....interesting to see when these cars were built and how many of the early builds are still around......

Body 51 - Glad the decoding helped...cool that we have cars close in production!

Oregontopcat - We went with Legendary Auto Interiors as my resto shop has had good experience and they say they are the top quality...will let you know as I'm getting the interior in the next few weeks -- http://www.legendaryautointeriors.com/

Jeff, nice to see another convertible getting the royal treatment. I restored my 442 convertible last year and have had a ball showing it around the country. Lee
