Yup, George Hurst himself had the car built. It was written up in the Hurst Heritage book if I remember correctly. I've never figured out why you'd want to do this, however. Sorry, but I'm just not a big fan of wrong-wheel-drive.

Nothing like staying on the throttle and powering thru a turn, and the tail follows the front without trying to push it off the road...

Sorry, Glenn. I prefer to be able to "steer" with the throttle.

One of my fantasy cars is to get a 1966 Toro and put a 1966 Rivera frame and floor pan under it... (they're both E-body cars)

Here I thought you were just yankin my leg till I read through the posts and links. You'd think that a car like that would be stored and cared for a lot better than in the pics.

Its really not bad. We pulled it out of the garage for the first time in 20 years when **** T. shot some pics. The only blemishes are where the laquer has bubbled and peeled a bit, it has not a single ding or dent, the interior looks like it just rolled of the showroom floor. We didn't start it since it has been so long. But he shot a ton of pics that I have access to, I will post some of them, it looks way better out of the garage.Oh by the way, it is my father in laws car. He drove it as a DD for years when he bought it in Cali. in 1970. Hurst built it, sold it to the dealer that he bought it from.

Although George never built the rear mount/rear drive Olds, I came a torchlight away from doing it to a '65 Chevelle 2-dr wagon!
Had the frame section with engine/trans sitting side-by-side, and deceided It'd take too long on my DD!

for the Oldsmobile purist/historian, it might be worthwhile for future reference to state where you saw the car. You never know when a little bit of information is deemed a treasure years from now.

I bought this car last year and in the process of restoration and looking for any paperwork from Hurst about it. I do have the two articles written back in 1968 and the two Hurst books but I have to guess Hurst did some promotional work with this car or about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW this car will be in Chicago at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in November.
