Question about this Hurst emblem (see pic)

Does anybody know if this Hurst emblem on the trunk lid ever actually came on the back of some '69's?

Or is this an emblem that some owners would put on themselves?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, that's an aftermarket emblem that was readily available in the 70s-80s (and maybe earlier but that's before my time).

That was never offered from the factory. You can still get them today.

Yes its aftermarket. They can be bought for $20+ dollars from multiple sources.
