How to make my 455 engine faster

I would like to know what carburetor I need for my 455 engine along with which high rise intake and headers to get.

Many people like the qjet carb works from stock to modified engines, I have one on my car I'm happy with. I had an edlebrock before and it was fine but the qjet feels more responsive.

The performer rpm is a good intake but watch your hood clearance ARH makes some nice headers but they are spensive.

Is your engine stock? If it's modified let us know some specs

Stock engine I would use the qjet, edlebrock performer, and any long tube header.

A cam would bump up hp and torque some, a performance rear gear could help out too.

What year 455? What heads? What valve sizes? What cam? What rear axle ratio? What vehicle? What intended use and RPM range?

Answer as many questions Joe asked and you'll be much closer to the answers you need

heads have a letter on them. Driver side front, look for head # there, just above the water pump there are some numbers for the block that may help, is there an EGR valve on the intake? Year and model Oldsmobile your inquiring about, try to get the gear ratio if you can. If not we can help you figure it out.
