Exhaust for 68' with W/X manifolds?
I've searched around the forum but couldn't find the information I was looking for. Just recieved new exhaust manifolds with a W/X on them. They are from Fusick/Thornton. For a 68' 442 what year exhaust should I order for with these manifolds? Our car had a 350 w/ crossover manifolds when we got it so I don't know what style the originals were. Now it has a 455 and I want to order the correct style exhaust for the car and I don't know if these manifolds are like the originals.

Functionally, the only difference between 389268 and 389706 are the ribs for the hot air stove on the outside of the manifold. The exhaust outlet is in the same place on both relative to the ports, so correct 1968 pipes should bolt right up.

Thanks Joe,
My dad ordered these for a 68' but who knows. Thanks for the extra information, these will work fine for our application. I'am going to lop the heat riser flap out and braze the end of the shaft in place so it looks operational. It's a substantial size shaft running through the center of the outlet.

Here it is right before break in and before I cobbled the exhaust, dropped in a distributor and such.

my 72 had a 350 w stock manifolds and the exhaust pipe crossover blocked off so it had dual exhaust.
I swapped in a 455 w W & X manifolds eliminated the heat riser flap and converted the Q jet to e choke. The dual exhaust from the 350 bolted right up to the 455 manifold after i loosened and adjusted the pipes slightly
