W30 Ralley Cluster

no, that was an option - so was the sport steering wheel.
EDIT: Oops maybe, let me look at documentation I know the sport wheel was definagtley an option can't remember about the gauges
It was a required option just like the sport mirrors. You paid a price for the W30 option but you had to order the optional sport mirrors and the rally pack

Someone on 442.com said all W30s came with the rally-pac but that's not true. It was an option, I've seen many without them. By buddy Brian has a '70 W30 4 spd post coupe that he bought from the original owner(for $1200!)in '77. It was a bench seat car with the standard gauges & steering wheel. I added the rally-pac & sport wheel for him from a parts car back in the 80s. He still has it & had Thorntons do a frame off on it 3 yrs ago,it's an awesome car!!!

Sort of what I was afraid to hear, two different answers. I'm going to stretch this even a bit further; could a 1970 W30 be equipped with the "tic-tock-tach" but not have any gauges, just the idiot lights?

Could not have the tach without the gauges. It was for sure an option and not standard on the W-30.

Like others have said, 100% sure, the rally pack was an option on ALL the Cutlass/442s. It was not mandatory in ANY car. You could even get that option in a wagon or 4 door, some people got it when they towed boats/trailers, etc.. & the tachometer always came with the 3 gauge cluster.
