Ralley pack with Nightwatch

Ralley pack with Nightwatch
I have a 1970 442 without the ralley pack option but with nightwatch(headlamp delay). The nightwatch works through the oil pressure switch and I want to know what happens with a car that has gauges? In the servive manual I only see troubleshooting for cars wiith warning lamps and nightwatch. Basicly I want to put gauges in the car and don't exactly know what to do with the wiring??

I heard that you were not able to have both options from the factory because the both run of the oil pressure. You had to pick one or the other? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm sure where there's a will there's a way to hook em both up though.

The nightwatch requires the std oil pressure switch. The gauges need the variable resistance sender.
So in theory, they both cannot be had at the same time. The way around this is to use some sort of brass "T" fitting, where you can thread in both the gauge sender and the idiot light sender.
Such a fitting should be available at plumbing shops. Just make sure the variable sender will clear the intake.

I think so - I would need to consult the manual to be certain. Not sure where the nightwatch circuity resides and how it is wired.
If there is only one wire to the pressure switch, you will need to run a separate wire from the pressure switch to the nightwatch unit and isolate that from the gauge cluster. It can be done.

Though I could probably make it work, I found a salesmens price guide for 1970 and the two options were not available together. I don't think I'll put the ralley pack I like the nightwatch option anyway. Thanks for the input...

Check to see if you have two wires coming off the pressure switch. If there are two, then wiring will be a cinch - a low brainer. The biggest deal would be getting both senders plumbed.
In 72, there were two wires, one with a big plug going to it. That plug would disconnect and go to the new variable sender. The other would stay on the switch and both would work without any extra wiring.
