By the way the posted photo of my 442 is from 87 and 92. It does not look like this now. Thanks for the compliment anyway.
I'd still LOVE to see current pictures (hint, hint, hint).

I'm kind of late in replying, just joined a couple days ago, but just wanted to concur about the air cleaner. My car was built in Fremont, CA. and has the K19 A.I.R. system. My air cleaner has the grommet with a pipe going into a filter on the valve cover (K20). This is usually California only. According to the Assembly Manual there was a standard snorkel air cleaner without the hole. I'd attach pictures but for some reason I put the A.I.R. system components away in a box.

Thumbs up Re: RPO source

I have a parts book for my pick-up, 65-78 light duty truck; but in the front section there are twenty-four and a half pages of GM options...that's about 1715 RPO options for both cars and light trucks...but I noticed that RPO A69 in the book is missing and A70 is totally different...K66 is missing also.. there are no single letter options listed... So my list is far from complete...

RPO option codes are not an exact science. *Generally* they are the same within GM and from year to year, but there are many exceptions to this too.
The same option code *can* mean something different from one year to the next.

Just wanted to wish all my friends here at Classic Oldsmobile a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. You're a great group of guys and I appreciate all your help!

Now, if the Bumpasses' dogs haven't gotten to it yet, it's time to check on the turkey!

I love the story, I wish I had my first 442 back, 1969 442.

Not only does it have the rubber grommet in the snorkel, but it has two 1/8" holes on the left side, looks like there was a tag rivited there from the factory.
If it means anything to anyone..I'll post a pic

It was advertised as a 66-67 330ci ultra high comppression 4 barrel air cleaner.
It was not for a 442 for sure, because I sand blasted off the orig orange/red paint myself yesterday.

Does anyone know what the 2 holes are for ?
They fall in the same place my orig air cleaner has the filter instructions.

Thanks, Squirell, I finally looked this up. The black canister is a filter/silencer for the A.I.R. pump smog system required on California cars.
