Welcome.

Beautiful car worthy of more pics.

Is it a 4 speed or auto? What is the history on the car.

This is a great driving car - a little unusual in that it was a special order color car - two dashes on the trim tag. It is a 4-speed car with a 3.91 rear end, so interstate driving is a bit of a challenge. It's a very solid incredibly nice car to drive with no rattles. The motor was rebuilt to original Olds W30 specs.

Challenge?

Why is interstate driving a challenge? 3.91 geared cars can be driven all day long.

I think it's because my everyday driver is a 6 speed manual (CTS-V) and I keep looking for that extra gear at higher speeds. Not a big deal just an observation!

I have the factory tach in this car so I am not sure it's exactly right or spot on because at idle it's a bit high, but I think it's runs around 3900 rpms at 70 mph.

Looks like a fantastic car! If I could get that in dark blue I'd happy.

Any chance of a photo or two of the hood? My painter suggested doing similar on my '70 hood and I'd like to see some detail of how they're situated and terminate at towards the cowl.

Thanks,

I was curious

I have an Olds acquaintance [James N. wtf are you?] That won't drive his 69 W-30 across town to the local BOP show because of the 3.91 rear end

I would of course but the tire might be smoking a little

I can take some pictures if you want on the hood strips and send to you if you would like.

I have a '69 GTO that has, I forget the name of the option, 2 small blower motors in the cowl since it is a non AC car. I see yours has them also? Is that what the switch above the radio is for? What does Oldsmobile call that option? Beautiful car also!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous car!!! Not to pick it apart but I believe you have the wrong P/S pump on it. '68-'70 should have the "Banjo" style pump with the rounded upper body for the fill cap, also you're missing the brace that goes from the front p/s bracket(that empty hole on the side of your brkt) to the first exhaust manifold bolt. The pic I posted is for a '68 engine that has a metal cap on the pump I think 69's had a plastic cap.

Appreciate the compliment on the car!! To be honest with you I have always been a Buick GS guy - have a 70 Stage 1 4-speed car and always wanted an Olds - so got this one a while back and love it. It actually drives better than the Buick!

You are very fortunate my friend. This is one of my bucket list cars. NICE!

That is the original color - it was a special color order car - when the car was painted it was color matched using software (have no idea what it's called) but was done by a high end auto paint shop and the paint matched up to a GM 1969 Cadillac San Mateo Red. The process looks at door jams/inside fenders and spray on interior floor pans. The finish on the car is perfect - there is not one mark/blemish on it. I certainly don't know this but this car could possibly be a 1 of 1 in this color. I posted a short video in my first thread of how she sounds. It's a great and I feel fairly unique car. Thanks

One of 480...good bet its the only 69 W30 that color. Sure wish we had the same level of records like Mopar Ford and Pontiac have.

Very nice color

The only other similar 69 W30 I know of was Glenn Johnson's old Burgundy W30 with Berejik documents. He sold it 5 or 6 years ago and it's been repainted and resold since.

Wow. That paint is ridiculous. So beautiful.

You could always change out the gears. Just throw in a different rear and keep the original intact and unmolested.
I dealt with 3.90's with a GV unit...but I wouldn't dream of doing that with such a rare ride.
