70 442 choke heater tube in manifold p/n interchange ?
Will a P/N 412620 choke heater work in the '70 442 stock cast iron intake manifold?
I see the parts manuals in WAC call for P/N 408716 (65 - 72 V8).
But,.... I have seen a few sources ie. Olds restoration catalogs and ebay auctions (I know not the best sources for correct information) list a standard choke heater fitting 70 - 77 V8.
The reason I ask is there is a good supply of NOS P/N 412620 choke heaters that can be found, but NOS for P/N 408716 choke heaters seems to be like a hen's tooth.

The part number originally installed by the factory in 1970 models was 382706. This was used for all V8s (350 and 455).
408716 was installed by the factory for 1971 models.
412620 was probably used later in the 70s, superseeding the originals. I'd be surprised if it didn't fit the 1970 intake manifold. It won't cost you too much to try ....
