Will it fit? S-10 Wheels and Tires

Wondering if these wheels will fit on the 442 for transport? I plan on going to PA next week to get the car. The price is right for these tires and way better than what's currently on there. The car may be sitting in my garage for a while before it is up and running again and then at that point I'll buy the new tires for the original wheels.

Tried checking some used tire places for GR 70-14 substitutes, for the E-T rims on the car currently, but no luck in finding a 14 inch that wide in a used tire. Maybe 15 years ago...

They are 225/75/15 on the needed 5x4.75 pattern, but I'm not sure if the clearance will be there.

Thanks!

Not that I don't trust you, but I could use another member's confirmation on this. The last thing I want to do is make the trip and find out the things wont fit.

Anyone else positive on these? They wont be driven on. Just for transport and garage use.

fyi

You are good to go. Both are 5 on 4.75" bolt pattern & that size tire will not cause any issues.

If they were 4x4 wheels that would be a problem due to the offset, but these are standard 2wd wheels and will be just fine.

I'm learning due to your help. Good to know.

Called the guy before and it turns out it is a motorcycle business. Maybe I won't get a call back till Monday.

Hi, hope I'm not too late! I tried to put an S-10 Xtreme wheel on the rear of my '69 442 (axle is out of a '70) and the center hole wouldn't clear the center flange on the axle end. These were 16" and a different style from what you have pictured, but might be worth checking. I didn't try it on the front.

That doesn't make any sense. GM has used the same diameter hub forever on 5x4 3/4 bolt spacing wheels.

Seemed odd to me but I couldn't get it to fit. It's possible the flange stuck out further on the 442 than on the S-10 and the hole in the center of the wheel stepped down a bit so it wouldn't go all the way on.

More likely there was corrosion on either the wheel, the axle or both that was preventing the wheel from seating.
