What SS3 wheel am I needing?

What SS3 wheel am I needing?
My 71 W30 had 15" SS3 wheels with bolt on caps. One was bent a little so I threw it in the trash figuring I'd find another. 
What am I looking for? What years? I have found several with pop on caps but not bolt on.

My 1976 illustrations book shows a 15 x 7 SS II/III with the bolt on cap for 1974 only. In that book, the 1975 15 x 7 uses a different PN for the cap--presumably the bolt on cap. Hopefully someone else will step in and help validate this information.

I believe they were available in 1973 and 74. But the 14X7 bolt on center cap was also available those years too. If you haven't taken the bent one to the scrap yard yet you might want to see if it can be straightened. These are very hard to find and I only see them come up for sale once or twice a year. John

I should be able to round one up then somewhere, now I know what to look for. I shouldn't have tossed the bent one out. I did find a couple nice 15X7's with the pop on caps for 15$ each at an old junk yard. I'm using the one in with my set of 3 and it's not real noticable. It'll give me a reason to hit a couple of swap meets.

The last ones I saw for sale were close to $100 each. If you strike out there you can have the center of a 14X7 bolt on welded into a 15X7 blank. You can do a search on this site and see other discussions about them. I'm pretty sure in a past thread Joe or Kurt verified that the 14X7 and 15X7 bolt on center wheels used the same centers. It was the outer portion that varied. I'm not positive, but I think a good shop could match the factory wheels. John

if you compare them the centers are the same - the main for me to tell the difference is that the valve stem on the 14 inch rim is centered in that part of the rim it mounts to, the 15" valve stem is off centered, one of the easiest ways for me to tell without looking at the stamp code

As noted, the 15x7 SSII/III wheels with bolt-in centers are tough to find. Since the center part of the wheel is the same, you can use a 14" wheel and have the center cut out and welded to a 15" rim by one of the custom wheel houses. I don't know if this is cheaper or not, however.
