Show us pictures of your Flat Top Wagon
I could not find a thread showing pictures of all the surviving flat top wagons, so I figured I just start one.
Here are my 2 Flat Tops: 1. 1971 Cutlass Wagon paint code 26 Viking blue (older Macco paint job), 350 AC Delete, PS and Disk Brakes only. Purchased in 1998 from the original owner who took it to Germany and back during his service. 2. 1972 Cutlass Wagon White Factory 455 U-code that was upgraded with buckets, duel gate, rally pack, tilt, sport wheel, and posi. Upgrades made by the previous owner which is also my good friend the creator of the one and only 1970 Touring Coupe OldsCamino from north Texas. If you have a Flat Top Wagon, please post a picture of it on this thread. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Texas442; October 3rd, 2009 at 07:53 PM.. |

Flat Top Wagon
Here's mine, I've had it about 8 years and it was purchased new here in Medford Oregon. It's looking sadly neglicted right now, but I've been collecting parts to rebuild it for quite a while. It came from the factory with sandalwood exterior and sienna interior. Options included tilt column, cruise, power bench, inside hood lock, 4 row radiator. But 4 wheel drum brakes and a 350 2bbl engine. I have a factory OAI hood I've had for over 20 years that I bolted on, front disc brakes, black bucket seats and a mildly built 1968 350. I have, but not installed yet 442 grills, power windows and door locks, core sienna buckets with power drivers side and a sienna console, a fresh 455, repop red fenderwells, 442 and W30 emblems, sport mirrors, posi rear, sway bars and widened SSII wheels or 15X7 repop SSI wheels. I also have a 1971 optional windshield wiper mist column, parts for a manual transmission or a dual gate setup (I haven't made up my mind which to use yet). There is rust around the rear side windows and I already fixed rust around the front windshield. Most of my car buddies don't get it, but I really like the idea of the 442 W30 wagon that Oldsmobile "should" have built

Here's mine. Not as nice as it will be but wears all it's original paint. 350 2brl car with power drums, a/c, int light group, and manual rear window. I put 15" SSIII's on it. This is the good side. The pass 2 doors will get replaced and repainted b/c of dents. I plan to drive the snot out of this while I restore my '72 U code clone.

I'm loving the wagon love. You olds wagon guys are so much luckier than mopar wagon guys. Or at least this one.. I have NEVER seen another 72 satellite wagon in person in my life. Only seen one, in a GA junkyard about to be crushed. Tried to buy it but the owner fell off the face of the earth. Only 2907 Satellite regents made in 72. Very few still survive
![]() I'm glad to say mine is 100% original, engine, trans, interior, paint. You name it, it hasn't been touched (Except maintainece parts)

Here's my 69 Flat Top. Bought off ebay 3 years ago out of California from the original owners son-in-law. He was the 2nd owner. Originally a 54K 350/310 car with a bunch of dents, but no rust, and a really nice light blue interior. The car now has:
461 w/Edelbrock heads, performer intake, holley 770 Switch Pitch th400 w/a Bruce Roe control box ford 9" 3:00 gears w/12" drums 1 3/8" HO sway bars front and rear B body spindels w/12" slotted rotors and global west negitive roll upper control arms Close ratio steering box 17" Billet Specialties wheels Vintage air power windows..... 5 of them! tilt columb, buckets, console and a kickin stereo Custom one off color, blue crystal pearl paint job w/white pearl stripes. Soon to have 70 OAI hood, Stainless headders and Flowmaster 3" mandrel bent exhaust. And Im sure I think of other things to do to it before too long. ![]() |

Tex I really like that pic with the back view of those wagons.
![]() Do you remember if that other white wagon was the 4 speed wagon that was Jim Stolmans (Stolman Oldsmobile) from Virginia, then Hot Rod Harry had it here in Jersey? I believe it went to Texas about 10-11 years ago? |

Well, here's our two:
1992 Custom Cruiser - 190K miles and rolling, tinted, dual Smithy's, K & N air filter, 25-27 mpg on the road (19 around town) 1968 Flat Top Wagon (Silver Bullet) - 4 year frame on restoration; $200 purchase price from a farmer south of San Antonio, drove it back to Dallas w/the plate off Big Red ('68 Cutlass convertible) and no inspection sticker, very little brakes, no windshield wipers (of course it rained, hard!) Totally new leather interior (grey to match the H/O theme), 139K motor w/o a head ever being off. The SB was around when Ali took the picture at the NTOC Zone Show, but I was too embarassed as to the way she looked (at the time) to include her; wish I had. It really doesn't matter, she should have been inthe picture - MY FAULT! Last edited by Aron Nance; October 6th, 2009 at 12:14 PM.. |

You should be proud of saving another Flat Top. Here is a question that only Aron is allowed to answer. What is common between the Silver Bullet and the wagon in this old Polaroid picture (before we had digital cameras)? ![]() ![]() Last edited by Texas442; October 6th, 2009 at 01:04 PM.. |

Ali: Where in the world did you find those pics?
![]() ![]() I don't think I have them anymore; however, I saved them off this thread, will print out to show folks what the Silver Bullet looked like in the shed at the Farmer's on the day she was purchased! LOL!![]() ![]() The Passenger side looks much worse than I remember, and just love those little decals all across the front bumper from his insurance agent. I don't guess they were awarded for good driving, were they? I remember asking the son (whom I bought the SB from, as his Father had passed on) "did your Dad have a problem w/the bottle"? His immediate answer was, "Nope, just couldn't see"!!!!! Still LOL. Brings back some great (and not so great) memories. I THINK I can safely say NEVER AGAIN! Sorry for being so long winded.Last edited by Aron Nance; October 6th, 2009 at 02:30 PM.. |

Also, it has saddle interior and did not have a Ram Air hood. Both of the white flat tops have blue interior and R/A hoods on them as shown in the aerial photo. ![]() ![]() |

After seeing this photo of Bobs flat top towing the boat, my new quest is to finish fabbing the class 3 hitch for my wagon and get it on there finally! It was one of the first things I wanted to do to the car when I got it but never finished.

1966 F-85 Deluxe flat top
Here is my 66 F-85 Deluxe flat top. Pretty much all original except for the wheels and a Flowmaster muffler.
330 2-barrel, AT, AC, PS, tilt wheel, remote mirror, power rear window, parking brake indicator light and passenger side vanity mirror.

Orange442,
Do you know Robby at Robbys service center. He rents U-Hauls. I bought my 48 Olds from him and picked it up in your town. Small world

Yes, but I have not talked to him in a long time. A 455 he had is in a buddys 72 Cutlass in Oklahoma City. I got it from another Olds guys here in town that got it from Robby and I traded it to my buddy to put in his 72. I have tried to buy Robbys old 69 Cutlass but the people that have it now want too much for it. You drove quite a distance to get that 48!

Thanks! Yes, I just found the site and thought I would join since I will probably have this wagon for quite a while and I am looking at 2 more. It seems like a good site with a lot of wagon lovers!
