I've seen a couple different linkage styles for J-2's. I assume the difference is between 1957 and 1958. Been googling last couple hours and can't find any real good photos of complete , original J-2 linkage with all factory vacuum stuff. No need for you to make guesses based on images of unknown accuracy. Factory correct drawings and parts lists exist in the form of Rochester bulletins 9C-510 April 1962 replacing pages 1&2 9C-510 of 7/1/57 five pages total and 9C-513 & 513A 9/1/58, and GM part no. 571397 eight page drawing set, with every bit of pertinent information for 1957 and '58. Both fuel filter types and related lines layouts, both air cleaner assy styles, linkage specifics for standard shift and H-M and all other small differences in detail are completely evident, with GMPD parts numbers denoted on most all parts. Also of interest, mention of export package W-1 is found in this information, of which not a lot of other information is to be found. Beware of images of existing assemblies not known as correct, because some completely restored cars out there have known incorrect or modified parts.
