Rocker Arm Plug

Rocker Arm Plug
Good day all,
After sitting over 20 years I did finally get my 58 98 to start, and it did run, sort of. Ended up bending 4 intake pushrods due to seized valve guides.
I pulled and disassembled the engine to clean up the oil system. Keeping all the parts in order I disassembled one rocker arm assembly including removing the shaft end plugs. The interior of the shafts were plugged. It is all clean now and back together except I cannot find the end plugs. 29/64 inch is too small and half inch is too big. So far 15/32 is discontinued and unavailable.
Did all this vintage use the same rocker arm shafts and plugs?
Thank you for reading my post, any ideas?
Steve

I don't know the answer to your problem but Tony from Ross Racing Engines will and probably will have the parts you need. Good luck in your quest... Tedd

Stephen,
Do you know what the inside of the shafts measure ? There might be a metric size that will work. I have a mess of different size plugs at the shop and will try to remember and look in the morning.

Hi Redoldsman, I didn't. Punched a hole in them, screwed in a lag bolt and pulled them out. Hence I need new ones. Didn't think it would be a problem getting them.
BillK, I was looking to try 15/32 which is about 11.9 mm. The only other possibility I have not tried to look for is 31/64. Half inch is too big.
No one else has had this issue?
Melling cannot get them. Now Carid may be able to get them. But it is on the "National Delay", whatever that is. They are looking at a shipping date of April 4th.
Thank you,
Steve

Stephen.
15/32 is a very common size used in almost every Small Block Chevy engine since 1987 I have a box of about 200 of them. I will gladly stick a handful in an envelpoe and send them to you but before I do, check with your local machine shop and see if they have them. They come in all of the Small Block Chevy freeze plug kits but are only used in the late model blocks so I have a ton left over. The Pioneer part number is EPC-108 The ones I have measure about .475" OD
Hope this helps,
