I believe everything would be the same. Maybe someone can check it on Hollanders, but I don't think you will run into any problems. Just get the Pittman arm from the one with power steering. I changed one on a '54 Chevy, and had to go back and get the Pittman arm because we're different. Larry

They say that '54 and '55 will interchange with the following note:
"Post and worm assembly, cross shaft assembly and housing assembly only. Not sold by manufacturer as a steering assembly."
They also say that the pumps are expected to interchange.
The spindles are the same '53-'56.
Tie rod sockets are the same '39-'60.
The lower arms for '54 & '55 show different part numbers. Interchange is not indicated.
Information on the upper arms for the '54 is not shown in my books.
('55 & '56 interchange)
The knuckle supports for '54 & '55 show different part numbers. Interchange is not indicated.
While I'm unsure about all the implications of the above, such is what's in the Hollander Manual 30th edition.

Glad Ozzie was able to reach the old Hollander manual. I thought it would be an easy swap.,but I found out again that what "I think and a dollar will usually get you a Coke out of most drink machines ". Larry

There is a power steering sector and a pump on sale right now on ebay. They are listed separately but are both from the same seller. The prices are $150 and $75 respectively. That is a really good price on the sector and a fair price on the pump which includes the bracket. You can probably count on having them both rebuilt. Chip at Power Steering Services is the go to person for that. Here are the links:

Don't get too discouraged. The steering gear "assembly" in the Hollander can include everything involved in the steering of the vehicle all the way back to (and including) the steering wheel. So when somethings are excluded, they may be things that are not really needed in making the conversion. As the '54 and '55 are similar in many ways sometimes small modifications can get something to work. Best wishes.
