Hurst shifter handles?

Hello all , my 1969 Cutlass has the m-20 4 speed, when I bought the car it had the 442 competition shifter handle , but it was bolted to a standard competion plus shifter, meaning it wasnt pressed in it was bolted on...69 442

As my car is not a 442 I want to use the competion plus it will accept all the bolt on handles but which one?

I plan on using the stock console and I do not want to cut up either the floor which I repaired or the console?

Any thoughts on which number shifter stick I should use? in lieu of that anybody know the measurements of a stock 69 442 stick that used a console?

I have the original HurstCompetition Plus shifter and correct "H" marked shifter for sale that is for the 68-69 350 Cutlass and F85 cars as well as same year 442 version. $200 for each, both have the OEM shifter and push lock sticks.

Thank you, yes I saw that, was it for a console car?

I understand that the 67-69 shifters are interchangable with or without console only , one shifter only unlike the 70-72

Eddie,

The correct shift for your car would have the "H" on the handle but not the "442". There two different handles, one for non 442 applications ("H") only and one for the 442 ("H" and "442)

The previous poster is correct. There is no offset in either of those handles. As long as you're using the correct shifter mounting plate on the tranny it will come throught the floor in line with the console shifter hole

Thank you sir as an aside in 69 I see console no console what about bench seat? Would it be the same stick or one with a bigger curve, could you give me the measurment of the 69 stick? As I said I have a shifter its perfect, it had the 442 stick attached but it was obviously drilled to fit a new mechanism, I have a couple of hurst sticks wanted to choose the one closest to what should be there... much appreciated...

Eddie,

Again.....the 69 stick is straight, period. The only difference is the writing on the handle. Bench, bucket, console, non console all the same geometry. The three speed stick is the same too

Thanks Mike,

got it now lol...

Reason I asked regarding the bench, I personally think there is nothing sexier than a bench seat 4 speed... love em to death.... always thought about changing mine to a bench, but then I also like the console .... decisions decisions LOL...
