shift linkage

shift linkage
I just had my tran rebuilt and it works fine except for one thing. The column shift linkage still feels sloppy. How can I fix that? I want more of a positive engagement.

Down at the transmission there is an adjustment that you can do. With the car in park, you can loosen the adjustment bolt and then push up on the linkage that the bolt screws into. It will slide it up the shift linkage that goes to the column giving you the positive engagement you are looking for. While you hold it up, tighten the bolt and you're done.
Play with it to get it how you want it. I have mine as tight as I can get it because I have a manual valve body and need it to shift NOW at the track.

I see parts like that at OPGI but I am not sure which ones to purchase. Sloppy in the sense that you don't get a strong positve engagement when pulling down the column shift. It is wasy to go past reverse and into neutral.
The trans itself is fine. I can feel it when I move it on the trans just fine.
