Roto-Hydramatic problem

My friend is having trouble with his transmission on his 62 Starfire Conv. The engine was pulled and rebuilt. While the engine was out he changed the trans pan gasket and cleaned the screen. The engine was installed.

The T.V. linkage was adjusted properly and the cooling lines and vent are clear. He starts up the car and when he shuts it off, it pukes about 1 to 1.5 cups of fluid through the dipstick.

The fluid level is at the mark or lower, now that it's puking tranny oil. Any idea what is causing this and what he can do to remedy the situation? Any help is appreciated.

How many rpm should my 62 starfire with ac, original issue 3:42 real end be going at 60 mph? Mine runs over 3200 at 70 mph, my gas mileage is horrible, single digits (7 mpg) .
I think it's not going into 4th (high gear) . I also get a vibration above 55 mph, I have installed new radial tires, new driveshaft, engine was just rebuilt, transmission was
Asst worked on over 20 years ago, I drive the car about 300/500 miles a year.

You will never see 4th gear because there isn't one. Four speed Slim Jim's are a myth. My 63 would do 13 MPG on a good day, less in traffic but 7 is low even for any 394 are you sure it is shifting into third?

I have no idea on your vibration, could be anything from tires, transmission to bent rim. Have you taken your tire guy for a ride, he would probably be your best bet if you can't find it yourself..... Tedd
