i have an 83 old 98 the engine is a 307 200r4 iwas wondering is it possible to bolt up a th350 tranny out of a 78 caprice or is there a tranny that will bolt up to it with out alot of work.

If the Caprice has a Chevy motor then you are out of luck. The Olds 307 Uses the GM BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) bellhousing bolt pattern. If you want to swap a Trans in, you will need to find a donor from a Older Cutlass.

Why would you want to perform this swap? This will change your final drive ratio, making highway cruising and gas milage a little less tolerable.

u can put a chevy tranny behind an olds motor or(B.O.P.) i f u get the bellhousing adapter plate.

look in jegs or summit, their like 50 bucks.

some 350 trannys have dual bell housing bolt patterns.

Keep it simple

Keep it simple and use the same trans, swapping parts can cause financial pain and other unforeseen problems.
