Rebuilt 62 F-85 Roto -5 leaking from vent

Rebuilt 62 F-85 Roto -5 leaking from vent
Installed professionally rebuilt Roto-5 in a 62 F-85. Adjusted the linkage and filled it to the full line. Had to adjust the linkage 3 more times to get the 1-2 shift right. Drove the car about 5 miles and upon return noticed a large puddle under the car. Fluid was pouring out while idling in park.
Checked fluid level and it was down from full. Parked the car and waited for 3 days,figuring it would settle down after that time. Fluid check showed it just below the add line.Drove car about 3 miles,flared 1-2 shift due to low fluid.Returned home to find fluid again dripping from the vent.
Thought venting fluid would stop after level dropped..not the case.
Can anybody explain what is going on here?
