auto to tremec 5 speed
O.K. let's hear it. Thinking about doing a auto swap to a Tremec 5 speed. I know I need a pedal assembly but is anyone aware of any other major mods that will need to be done? Found a company Silver Sport transmissions says does direct conversions.

Also be aware that many places that refer to "direct conversions" are usually referring to Chevies and don't necessarily understand that Oldsmobiles are different.

The transmission tunnel will need to be modified to gain clearance for the gearbox. I'm pretty sure that your conversion supplier will either offer a replacement trans tunnel, or can probably reccomend a vendor to make the process as easy as possible with professional results. I do know that if you use the replacement panel, no modifications are required for the factory console should you have one. I did the conversion in '99 to a G body I used to own, the fun factor increased ten fold.. Good luck

Before Keisler went under they were making a trans swap kit that required no tunnel modification. I think it was called the SS700. These are the guys who took over Keisler. I changed my car over to the TKO600. It's the best thing I've done and would do it again in a heartbeat.

The way I understand it from Silver Sport is that the Legend LGT-700 requires no tunnel modification (which may be the Keisler product ?) I was looking at this but have not made the decision yet as our dollar up here blows LOL
