Why not adapt Corvettish electric actuators?

not directly, but I know the 83? Vette has fast acting electic actuators. Should not be hard to modify for the correct stroke and then wire to the headlight circuit. Maybe there is a business opportunity here. It's a linear actuator, pretty well understood things. I used to work at a company that made power seat motors, little lead screw actuators. Slow moving of course. Only 3-4" of travel typically, and quite strong at about 600 lbs axial load stall force. My job was to run them to death on the durability tester.

There has been a bunch of discussion of this over at the TOA forum.
I plan to use linear actuators on mine when I get to that point.

I have not looked at the wiring required to use either a stock Toro switch or a more generic GM switch of the era, but I'm sure that the wiring would be simple enough.

Fabricating the mounting brackets and pivots would seem to me to be the biggest part of the conversion.

I have been experimenting with making the Toronado headlamp actuators on a 3D Printer. If you're patient, I will have one available in a few weeks.

I have also managed to make the turn signal actuator for a 66 Toronado.

turn signal actuator? you mean the part in the column? (mines out on my good 66).

as for the cannisters, that would be awesome if they could be 3d printed. the P.O. of my 66 had to buy another car to get good working ones (and I'd rather not have to do the same when one of mine go out)
