Hey all I know this may not be the place for chevy questions but I figured you guys would know about olds engines. I have an olds 350 not sure what year but I would say its an earlier motor (69-72) that I'm thinking about dropping into a 67 chevy biscayne (I know) I was wondering if this swap would work, mainly I'm worried about the motor mounts, would the mounts for an old cutlass work on the chevy or would I have to fabricate my own?

Olds mounts are totally different, and the bellhousing bolt pattern is different as well.

It's not as bad as it sounds.
If you change the motor mount brackets, 3 bolts on each side,
on the frame cross member, the Olds motor mounts will work.
(If you decide to go that route, I have several sets of the Olds brackets.)

Easiest way around the transmission problem,
aside from using an adapter plate, is to find an Olds transmission.
Olds 350 or 400TH transmissions are relatively cheap and easy to find.
Shouldn't have to change much else except exhausts.

Any Olds, Buick, Pontiac, or Cadillac 350/400 transmission will bolt right up.
For a bit more work the 200r4 transmission will fit as well, but you may need to modify the transmission mounts and driveshaft, as well as install some electrics. You get a useful overdrive which can save a bit of gas on long cruises as a bonus.

i put the 330 and trans out of my 67 vista cruiser into a 65 impala.super easy swap.want to think i took the frame mounts off the vista and they bolted right up to the impala frame holes.

I have no experience with the 65-70 Impala frames, but if you were able to bolt up the A-body frame mounts that means that the Chevy B-body frames are completely different from the Olds B-body frames. Olds full size cars from that vintage do not use frame-side brackets for engine mounting. The rubber motor mounts for the Olds B-body have threaded studs that go through the frame crossmember and are secured with nuts from the bottom.

yes they are different as far as the mounts with the stud out the bottom on the olds b body.i think it woulda been a pain trying to go the opposite a chevy engine into an olds.

I did it in two trucks, I kept the efi and 4l60e in my 94 to boot.

Yes. All you need is a 454 factory Qjet to TBI adapter, 307 CCC distributor and BOP to chebbie bell housing adapter. Olds V8's kick the pooh out of chebbie V8's in trucks.

He's right. I love Olds as much as the next guy, but why you'd ever want to use an SBO when SBCs are cheap, plentiful and a bolt-in fit is beyond me.
