Engine Identification Please
I have a transplanted Olds engine in my Hudson Hornet. I cannot read the block casting numbers as there is no clearance. All I have is the following: Intake casting number: 563966 Cast Number "8" on each head. The carburetor is a 4bbl rochester of a square design. Please help with identification so I can get the proper parts and get this thing running. Thanks!! ![]() |

I would bet you have an olds engine from the fifties. If you don't get a reply on this site try asking over a the H.A.M.B. site. They deal with older cars and there are a few guys over there that have knowledge of the older Oldsmobile engine.
