cam question
I think I've narrowed the cam pick for my sbo 350 down to two. They are as follows:
1. Comp Xtreme Energy XE268H: 268/280 adv. duration, 224/230 @.050" duration, .485/490 lift, 110 LSA, ? ICL, 1600-5800 rpm range. 2. Lunati Voodoo 60802: 262/268 adv. duration, 219/227 @.050" duration, .499/.510 lift, 112 LSA, 108 ICL, ? rpm range. My main question is which makes for greater streetability - a lower .050 duration or lower lift? Also, will the Voodoo cam work with a stock converter? The car ('69 Cutlass Supreme) will be mostly a cruiser that sees 1/4 mile duty 4 or 5 times a year. My compression is around the stock 9.0:1, although I may have it bumped up to about 9.5:1. Gears are 3.73:1, tranny is a TH350 with shift kit. - GoldOlds |

Go with the Voo Doo...much better specs for your combo.

Spring question
Do you have to change out your stock valve springs to do this combo? I already have stiff springs on mine.I asking because I want to change out my cam also.Without a whole lot of modifications.I'm @ 401 lift right now.

I'll agree with Danny on the cam selection. Less duration and more lift will produce a more streetable cam. I don't know what the coil bind height of your current springs is, so it's difficult to speculate on whether or not they'll work. One thing to keep in mind is that with shorter duration and higher lift, that cam will have steeper ramps on the lobes and will hit the valvetrain a little harder, so make sure everything is in good shape.
