This is a buddies engine laying on his garage floor and he said let's do it so I said why not.
The cam is too big but it's what I had laying around.
Just shows what maybe 325 crank hp can do.

Thats nice..real nice. I'm most impressed by your 60' times which is excellent.

You obviously have compiled a combanation that works and the know how to get down the track.

I wish I had that cam laying around

What led you to go with the JW converter.....how did that come about?

Nice Job and welcome to CO.

Cutlass racer on ROP made me a believer on the JW 10" converter,He had real good 60ft times.

I tried to be a member at ROP like 5 years ago and can never get signed up so I gave up.

I learned a ton from team chevelle on set up.I figured they would be the best at set up on the car being the car is a A body GM.
Speed talk has helped me learn a ton also.

The cool thing is the car takes the flash then about a car length out it unloads the tires and it still ran them #'s.

I have old junk suspension on the car front and back so there is still more there.

With that big of a cam you would think this thing would be a mush box down low but the converter keeps you in the right power band.

Thanks for all the good words, I will try to help others here as much as I can.

Super impressive, maybe my 8.3 to 1 403 needs that cam. How is it on the street?

Very nice on the street 13"vac in gear at 850 or so.Runs my power brakes just fine.

I had that cam in my 9.1 350 motor and it made power off idle with a 11"inch PTC 2800 converter.

I had it custom ground on a 108LSA for more overlap and more low end TQ.

It would be a good fit for a 403.

Reading down your list I thought this was another "my olds has no *****, can't spin the tires, these things suck, I'm puttin sbc in it...." until I got to the tire/gear/converter & then I knew it would have a happy ending. I think my next purchase is probably gonna be a converter - how is that thing on the street from idle to say, 3000 rpm? Decent #'s for the combo & I believe you will knock a few tenths off & get that 100 mph. Have fun doin it!

I'll be honest I put the converter and the motor in on Thursday got it running and loaded it on the trailer to go racing.

I will do some street driving this week and post my opinion on the converter.

If anyone wants to see it launch go to rock falls.com,then to sponsors, then to soulfisher.com, page 9 on Sept 25 fun race.

That cam is an animal in the SBO, pretty sure Dr Dan runs low 12's with that cam. Curious about the street manners too.

Well I'll give you some feedback on the JW 10" 3800 converter.Real nice but for sure more loose than the 11"2800 PTC that I had in there.

To me it slips more only going up driveways and taking off from a stop sign or light.
I'm not sure what it flashes to because it just spins and I get the shift light in about a car length.

This definitely is more of a street and strip type deal than the 2800 PTC.

But it makes the car feel so much more aggressive. And I definitely can live with it on the street.

Here are the cranking #'s
1. 132psi
2. 135psi
3. 132psi
4. 138psi
5. 130psi
6. 140psi
7. 135psi
8. 131psi

Just shows how hp et's you're car and gear can crutch you're torque.

Wonder what the peak torque would be on this, not much would be my guess?

87 octane all the way.
