Newbee and a question on total timing.

Hello,

I'm talking about a 350 cubic inch engine in a 1971 Cutlass with a mild performance cam ~216 degrees duration @.050" lift ~.480" lift (unknown manufacturer), 4bbl quadrajet, and auto tranny.

What should I shoot for total timing wise with this setup? What do you usually set your base timing at?

Thanks!

Huron

Hi. Base timing is 10 btdc. I have a mild cam in mine, I run the timing about 13 btdc. Hope this helps, Jim.
