hmm, I have some ID books at home. Maybe this link can help you out.

http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofeng.htm

then go here

Talks about Julian date codes on the blocks.
Why is it you need to find this out? Its obvious that its not the original motor for this car.

The 307 was made from 1980 to 1990. The 7A heads were used in 1986-1990, so that narrows it down if the heads are original to the block. There should be a VIN derivative stamp on the driver's side of the block, below and forward of the No. 1 exhaust port. The third character of that nine-character identifier will be the year. It should be a letter. G=1986, H=1987, J=1988, K=1989, L=1990

The year of the motor won't do you any good with tune up specs. In stock form, the 307 used the Computer Command Control (CCC) system that electronically controlled spark advance, mixture ratio, and a host of emissions equipment like the EGR valve and the A.I.R. system. I assume your car does not have this hardware, so someone has installed the non-computerized carb and distributor from a different year and engine size. You'll need to use trial and error to find the right adjustments, I'm afraid.
