Hey Guys,
Need some advice as to steps needed to pull the engine from my 70' CS. I did alot of top half work but with doing additional projects I ended up taking most of the front end apart and now might as well keep going to clean it up and check things out. Never attempted this before so looking for some advice. After lines and wires at disconnected, is it motor mounts and disconnect from tranny or is it more involved? It got to this point as I was looking to replace the oil pan and gasket but know there's a clearance issue so why not pull it since front end is basically taken apart already, attached a pic of how it sits currently. Thanks in advance for any help for a novice weekend mechanic.

I was anticipating that! Thanks Eric. As it is my normal to make everything more complicated, I kept putting too much in the search criteria and not getting the results I wanted. Thanks for the help.

Do not break the A/C lines, just unbolt the compressor from the engine as a unit with the lines attached, swing it out of the way and tie it off to keep from damaging it. Since you have the whole nose off the car it will be very easy to pull and reinstall the engine.

It's not to hard. Just take your time, be patient, have a drink, and plan on spending a few hours taking it out. The first time is always a bear.

My biggest unplanned hang up is always when I forget to remove the starter and oil filter. They always seem to get hung up on the engine mount pads.

Removing the radiator support also makes things much easier. And you've already done that.

And the throttle cable. Don't forget the throttle cable.
