What was stock 442 cam specks measured at 0.050? I can only find advertised specs. What does this translate to ? Stock auto 455 442?The numbers can be approximations I don't need accurate!

As I know it the @.050 specs are 233/233, on a 113 lsa. Hope this helps.

The 233 deg at .050" cam was the 308 deg. W30 and W31. Standard 442 cams had less duration at .050" lift. There would be several possibilities, none of them anything spectacular.

Hi Joe, I show two cams for the hi-perf 455's. One, #402194, is for the 390 HP, the other is #402569. This is for the W-30 unit!

The 402194 specs are: (.050") 232*/232*x (Adv.) 308*/308* x .474"/.474" x 113* LS.

The 402569 specs are: (.050") 244*/244* x (Adv.) 328*/328* x .475"/.475" x 110* LS.

Olds rates duration at zero lift, while most cam manufacturers rate duration at .050" lift.
ST = standard trans
AT = automatic trans 2BC/4BC: 2 or 4 barrel carb
OAI = outside air induction

Roller lifters and cams were in all 1986 and up 307's, and most 1985 307's. An easy ID is the heads. 5A heads have no roller lifter, 7A heads have the roller lifters. These lifters are of 0.921" variety.

Correction Randy, Olds rated their ADVERTISED duration at .000 lift. Comp, Lunati and most others rate it at .006, Crane and Erson as well as most of the generics rate theirs at .004.

that 71 cam 285-287 degrees at .472 lift is the cam measured at .000 lift. At 0.050 it would be approximately 205 degrees at .472 lift.......? Correct??

I have the same question about the Olds 286/286 .472 cam used in 68-69 400 4 speed 360 hp 400 and 70-1/2 350 310 hp 4 speed

MY answer or guess is that being as I suspect Pontiac and Olds advertised duration is likely rated in the same manner or very close and the Pontiac cams I do know the @050 duration I will just share that a Pontiac 288/302 cam is 212/225 so I would suspect the Olds 285-286-287 would be a touch less maybe 208-212 is my guess. Also a Pontiac 308/320 cam is 231/240 and an Olds 308/308 cam is know at 233/233 , Olds 328/328 is 244

Seems to be some variation in the 308/308 cam with the folks that repop it. I have seen it listed as 232/232, 233/233 and 234/234 @050
