Joe and Boldsmobile...any chance either of you would consider selling one of these Algon units? I converted a Hilborn unit for use on a 394 in my 61 Olds Bubble-top. It turned heads everywhere I went. I need something like this for my 65 Olds 442 in order to outshine the BBC boys with FI. I'm not one of those "someday I'm going to get around to it" guys! I will get it done and be out there showing off a sweet stack type EFI on a stroker Big Block Olds by next summer if one of you would relent and let one go...

The 64 was up on ROP before the last crash, as were a lot of posts on projects like hand fabricated OAI, my hurst build, tilt column dismantle, dual gate conversion, the race car I help build and maintain, Oldsmobile memorabilia , the girdle I designed and made, my intake collection - which is not as good as joes, and etc.
It will be a straight axle, 425, 4 speed. I've gathered every part I need for the build except for fender well headers which I will likely make myself.
Im frustratated that posts are not backed up. If admin wont take the time to make backups I won't take the time to restore lost posts.
I think the Hunts are great people but fell short on what I believe is a board admins responsibility.
Can you imagine the historical significance if the board still had all posts from all of the crashes? I lost count I believe its had 3 crashes. I think 2 of which were significant losses. I don't believe the most recent one was as catastrophic but recall it was offline for a few weeks.

I assume It would be backed up here because this place is a business site first and an olds site second.
I've grown to dislike the owner of this site. Ill share my info privately to benefit someone in need, not publicly to make this business more valuable on the backs of enthusiasts. That's why I would post on ROP as the Hunts aren't in it for the money.
I haven't posted as much build and project related info here since the pops up have made it an awful browsing experience. Most of the devices I would use to get on here don't give me the ability to block. What I hate the most is the bent page corner at the bottom when you use an ipad. Hate it!!!!!

I've done a bunch of IR 8 stacks, I love them.
Here's one I just finished. It's a 447 talldeck SBC from Nelson Racing engines. He paid 17K for it with a single plane, Holley Dominator and a 256@.050 solid roller. Wouldn't idle below 1100 rpm and he couldn't drive it, except at wot.
Now it idles at 800 all day. Any idea why guys?;-)
Thanks

Hey Joe,
I had a guy that had the exact same setup on his Mopar. He wanted to go with 2 throttle bodies cuz that carb setup really didn't run too well once you put some cam in it.
I was hoping to get more responses, mainly from a few who are "more in the know".;-)
The sole reason for a smooth idle vs a conventional carbed intake is that in an IR or 8 stack system you don't have anymore "dirty" air. Each cylinder is isolated from the others pulses, overlap and reversion. Unlike a common plenum the only "dirty" air an IR system has is that between the intake valve and the butterfly. Reversion and intake dilution due to overlap is what causes the unsteady idling in large cammed applications. When you alleviate the cause you alleviate the problem.
That SBC in the video only has 9.75:1 compression with a 256@.050 solid roller on a 108 lobe sep. But with the 8 stack it'll idle at 800 all day, even with the A/C on. That's tough to beat.
And if anyone ever tunes one, you'll see the fuel curve is waaaay different than anything else.
They are a bitch to tune but imo they're the way to go with virtually any normally aspirated hot rod.
