Olds type "O" rear end gears

I have a set of Richmond 4.10 gears for a type O rear end for sale. Apparently Richmond is months behind on production for the type O rear end, and I have no use for these. If anyone is interested please message me. I also have the posi carrier for the type O but it does need to be rebuilt. Make me a good offer and its yours. Thanks.

I don't think Richmond has made a gear set for a type O in a decade or better. Can't believe they ever will. Wish I had a use for them. Type O rears are good stuff.

Are they the type that fit the 3.23 carrier? Or the stock type that fit the 3.42+ carrier?

gears

The carrier is stamped with 588 if somehow you can tell which carrier that is and the gears are stamped right from Richmond. I do know that it is a type o rearend because I also have the entire housing.

588 carrier

The 588 carrier is the "big" one for the numerically higher gears (3.42 and up). IIRC from a conversation with Bryan Trick last year, the Richmond ring gear will need to be milled .010" on the back side to fit properly. Double-check with the rear-end specialists on here before cutting, LOL!
