New best in the wagon
Took the wag out to Ennis tonight for last Fast Friday of the year. Also trying out my buddy's set of drag radials 235/60-15 in place of my severely dry rotted 26x10 slicks . Pretty pleased that I was able to score my first 7.9's in the 1/8 at the Motorplex here. I had ran some 7.9's one night a year ago at the Cedar Creek 1/8th mile track but never got better than 8.0-8.1 at Ennis. My 60's tonight felt decent but we're a bit slower than the slicks 1.77-1.79 versus mid to low 1.7 typically with others . The radials did help I think in the mid range maybe but definitely handled and felt nicer . My previous best 1/4 were 12.66 and my first pass was a 12.60 followed by a 12.54 , the 1/8 were 7.99 then 7.94 tonight so I can live with that. Same setup same weight same 3.08 gears same Quadrajet. It has not been out since June. This may be the last time out with the Pontiac power. It needs freezeplugs and I have been assembling the 355 Olds to put in it for street duty. The Poncho 455 will be going in a Pontiac car next year.

Sounds like my previous weekend . Went out track had oil downs made 2 runs. 12.52 and a 12.45. I was happy lol. Is the 355 going to be just for street use or street strip duty aswell

Copper, it will still be street strip but just slower since I am not changing gears and want the AC hooked up. Basically it Is my build for the Rallye is what is going in for a while to break in until Rallye comes back together since frame is still off. I did score brand new Hooker SBO headers up for the wagon and a used aluminized H pipe 2.5" exhaust with flow masters cheap to put on it. Thinking maybe a bottle too for this forged piston ported head 355. I will either fix the # matching 350 while this one is in but also just picked up a 79k mile 403 dirt cheap so I could build it later for the wagon as well. Congrats on the new best times man you really got that thing dialed in !

Just started doing my body work so thats my main objective this winter.

You can always come to GLD. We are hooking better than Byron, and if we aren't, you know the guy who can make it happen. My buddy went 7.37 in the 1/4 today when it was in the low 50s. We had about 10 cars today. Needless to say, there was no waiting to make a run.

Damn Don that would have been perfect to make the extension test happen. Byron has been bad with oil downs. The track hooks but oil downs and wrecks kill time runs. Im done for the season but you will see me next spring at the grove. I want to make time runs in cool night air in the mid 40's. Im now on a mission to get the lowest E/t possible before i go to the ported irons dave did.
