2.5" exhausts

2.5" exhausts
I went to order a 2.5" mandrel bent system for Torque tech and found they have gone out of business (retired). Any suggestions on a 2.5" mandrel bent system? I had one of theirs years ago and it fit great. Mostly concerned with the tailpipes. Want turn down tips as going on a Cutlass...

Thanks guys for the confidence in Flow-Master. I ordered a 3 inch Flow-Master kit with Super 44's for my 64 F-85 Pro-touring build. I have the downturns coming out right behind the rear wheel well like a 66-67 Chevelle. Stainless steel clamps BUT have not installed it yet. Getting there!

I just done like flowmasters. Personally I like the hooker aero chamber mufflers. I think PYPES sells just a pipe kit that fits well. We installed one on a GM g body about a year ago and it fit great. Too late though as you have already ordered your kit. Im picky about exhaust system because i like em to tuck in certain way etc etc. i spent days tucking the 2.25 exhaust on my dads 77 pontiac so that all you could see was the tail pipes coming out behind the rear wheels.

I can say I had terrible luck with the Hearththrob brand system, as I'm not sure what car their kit was actually designed to fit. It tried to push exhaust pipes through the shocks. ??? Their welded mufflers sound absolutely amazing however!!! Better than Magnaflow, much better than Flowmasters.

Last night I fit a Pypes system (the 10 not 12) and it was a pleasure to install versus others I've done. I had to make 4 cuts - the pipes before the mufflers were about 5" too long, and I cut the tailpipe to fit trumpets (not necessary). They tailpipes were not designed to fit a 442 bumper, but by inserting a 6' piece of 2" roll cage pipe into the tailpipes, I was able to quickly bend them straight into line with where cutouts may eventually be, should I decide to change the bumper. That's some very minor tweaking for a system of this length and layout.

Aside from some tweaking the Pypes system fit very well on my 69 442. Love the sound of the Race mufflers. I was surprised at the quiet rumble then a louder sound when you hit the pedal and no drone.
