Desperately wanted a crankshaft for Olds 455!
Hi there, I've posted in this forum requesting help on my Olds 455 engine of my 76 Ninety-Eight Regency before as seen here:

I've decided to have a total rebuild of my engine, and now it has been stripped apart and all parts comes with the rebuild kit are ready-except the crankshaft, which we thought could be machined but is deemed unrepairable. Without this we cannot start assembling the engine. We are in New Zealand and it is extremely hard to find any Oldsmobile engine parts here, not to mention the crankshaft. The whole engine rebuilding is expensive that I cannot afford to buy the brand new steel crankshaft on eBay that sells for about $500(USD, plus shipping could cost me $1K in NZD), that I only have a limited budget of about $500-800(NZD) left.
Wonder if anyone here can help me to find a cheap (maybe second-hand) crankshaft in good, working condition that can straightaway be used as a replacement?
We urgently require this part so that we can start assembling the engine!
Many thanks,
Oliver

That is a tough spot to be in. What does shipping cost from the states to you for a crank? It is a heavy and large part that even in the states is expensive to ship just from one state to another.
