Under hood insulation pad fasteners 68 Cutlass

Are the OEM clips available somewhere for the underhood sound deadener somewhere? The square plastic ones with 4 round holes and a slot in the middle. I can only find round replacements. '68 Cutlass.

I moved your post to parts wanted. These parts are plentiful used and would assume someone on here can help your out.

I'm just looking for a place to buy them. Anyone? Anyone have a handful of non-broken originals they want to sell? Going into a pristine '68 442.

Received the fasteners and they are the wrong size. 1.5" instead of 2" and the post is smaller so they'll fall out of the hole. I found bad internet reviews on them too. What a crap replacement part.
Does anyone have a few of these that survived removal?

I used the Fusick fasteners on my '68 and '69, and I found they fell out at first. But then I found I wasn't pushing them in far enough. After a good push into the existing holes I finally got them to lock in, I haven't had any problems since.

Unfortunately, this is for a 100% original '69 442. They're visibly not the right size. If need be, I'll try to get the ones out of my convertible to install in the 442, but I'd rather not open that can of worms.

I'm trying to figure out the difference between what Fusick has (had?) and the pic posted by Paladin31. The ones I got from Fusick about a year ago are 2" (just went out to the shop to measure and be sure), just like Paladin31's pic. The center is slightly different and I don't know about the length of the post.

Crap I got my facts backward. Apparently the Fusick ones are 2", the originals are 1.5".

Underhood

Well the ones I pictured are originals that I removed from my 69 in 1979-80, and are 2" as shown.

There must be someone here who can verify the original size? My father-in-law's '68 and '69 both have 1 1/2" clips and both have been in the family since 1 year old. I personally don't know what's correct, just trying to help.

The original fasteners on my '68 4-4-2 convertible (Lansing car first week of April '68 build) and my '69 4-4-2 convertible (Fremont car 3rd week of May '69 build) were both 2" square-shaped. I replaced both the padding and the fasteners with parts from Fusick when I restored these cars. The '68 is a nuts-and-bolts restoration - I made sure every original fastener that I had went back into its original place - it was a real **** experience! I haven't been so fussy with the '69 - I'm just not up to doing that again!

Our '69 442 has only been repainted once, never restored (doesn't need it), and the insulation under the hood is original, with 1 1/2" clips. The '68 442 was the same, but mice ate part of the liner, so it is being replaced. The clips were also 1 1/2".
My '68 has 2" clips, and they appear original, so I just don't know what to say. Not my cars to make the decision on.
