1966 LS Sedan for parts

Just bought this today, more & better pix coming soon.
Complete car minus all glass but vent window thanks to vandals. 425 engine, AC, AM FM with reverb, rear defog, vacuum trunk release, clock, pw, pl, p seat, pretty nice black seats & door panels, dog house seems pretty nice as does the grill. The car is in Indianapolis & I can ship about anything.
Not sure on prices yet as I have not pulled anything.
Scott

It always amazes me to look at a car like that, a high-end 98, and think to myself that, back in 1966, somebody drove that home from the dealership as his new pride and joy, showed it off to his neighbors, and took the wife and kids for a spin. You always wonder how it goes from that to this.

It is sad right?! I had a fleeting thought of getting some good glass from Jensenracing77, as he has this exact same model at his place, getting it running & just driving it as is. Then reality sat in & with the seized up engine, rusty trunk & the amount of time & $ it would take to get it there, plus the unpracticality of it all, I regretfully will part it.
It does make you appreciate the ones that are left & how cool they are though.

You can't save them all. You can't save most of them. You're right. It makes you very appreciative of the nice ones you see at car shows and think back to a time when cars like that were commonplace, and no one gave them a second thought.

I installed a battery & most of the power options worked. Seat moves in most directions, makes noise in all directions. Power window tracks move up & down. The radio came on & I had to jiggle the power/volume **** & reverb. **** but I did get both the radio & reverb to work. I spent about 3 hours cleaning the majority of the glass out of the car, what a pain!! The seats look very presentable as to 3 of the door panels. The pass. rear panel has a couple small cuts in it towards the top. The steering wheel seems to have no cracks in it & just needs a real good cleaning. The dash pad is cracked.

Mike,
I just dropped the car off at one of my hiding places. I'll have to get back over there in a day or three to check on those numbers. I have the engine sold & I removed the bolts from the radiator cover with my 3/8 impact & broke the J nuts on the top of the shroud. Other than that I think it is nice.

Mike,
Here is the alternator & fan shroud. The shroud can be used as is I believe, with a little work? Not sure what either of these parts would be worth but take a look & let me know your thoughts?

Cutlassman,
I thought the carb was seized up but I did get the linkage to move with a small amount of effort. It needs to be cleaned up a bit & lubricated well & maybe even taken apart to install new gaskets but I think it will be ok once done. The intake has a bunch of debris from sitting in a garage for a couple decades but I would bet it is very usable once cleaned up. I think the carb number is 7026250? It's hard to tell for sure. How about $75.00 for them both plus shipping?

jcdynamic,
Pm sent.

Channal,
I have the radio pulled & the front speaker also. I need to remove the rear speaker & the Reverberation unit from the trunk & will get pix then. I tested the radio & it does seem to work as it should. I'm not sure what you mean by the top molding, can you give me a call to confirm? c. 317-727-7041

Oldsmaniac,
I'll check the hinges & let you know asap.

Cutlassman,
I'll get more/better pix of the intake asap also.

Oldsmaniac,
Here are the hood hinges. They seem to work well up & down. I sprayed them with PB Blaster to make sure they are freed up. $75.00 shipped for the pair?

Cutlassman,
Here are a couple more of the intake. I cleaned off some of the dust/dirt. I'm sure it will look pretty nice once blasted & painted.

Back To The Top. Engine still available. It seems to be locked up but would be a good core maybe? Intake & carb have been sold. Still have lots of trim & some interior parts.

Is the gear shifter lever ok? Plastic handle intact and chrome peeling from it at all?

I'll try to check on these parts today or tomorrow. I should have planned ahead better. We're leaving for vacation about 45 hours from now & I may not have time to visit the car before we leave.
