Hello, I have a 3.42 Posi O-axle sitting in my garage that needs a new ring and pinion. I am just going to be flat out honest about this. I bought the axle and had a guy go through it and replace all the bearings. The Carrier and gears were good. I thought he had put gear oil in it when he gave it back but he didn't so it got driven for a couple miles with no gear oil in it and it chewed up the gears. It has been sitting in my garage for a couple years now because I couldn't find any replacement gears for it. I don't have the car anymore and am moving. I don't have room to store it where I'm going and I don't want to scrap it. It is out of a 69 442 so I'm sure it's worth something but I don't know what. I want to sell it to someone otherwise it's going to the scrap yard. I need to get rid of it ASAP. I am not going to ship it so it will have to be someone that lives near the Twin cities in MN. I know your supposed to put a sale price on these but as I said I have no idea what its worth needing the ring and pinion replaced.

From what I understand, no one is currently making replacement "O" type 3.42 gears. I need a set myself.
I'm no expert, but, I think the posi unit alone should be worth $250.-300. if it's still good.
If you DO end up scrapping the housing, you should at least pull that posi unit.

And the axle shafts. Lots of folks need replacements due to failed wheel bearings.
