1968 Cutlass

SOLD

I now have two A-Body Oldsmobiles that I am parting out.

I took this in on trade over the weekend. As you can see it's a 1968 Cutlass. I believe it's an S. It appears to still have the original drive train. I'll be doing more research on it throughout the week by tearing into it and seeing what's there and what's not, looking at numbers and date codes and generally checking on the true condition of the car. I'll also post more pictures later in the week as well.

It runs and drives. Needs brake work.

The motor was supposed to have been rebuilt recently. We''ll have to see if that's true.

The body is rough, but I believe the doors and trink lid are decent. The doors will most likely have some pin holes in the lower front corners and the trunk has a little rust on the inner lip.

The radiator support looks great. I am not seeing any rust right now.

Front Disc Brakes

The bucket seats are spoken for. Everything else is still availible.

The second car is an F-85, Pictures posted further down the thread, It's fairly complete.

Tom
I sold everything Dated 30 April 2015

The dash pad is trash. Cracks

The lower dash is nice.
the Vent windows are really nice.
The steering wheel is a parts only piece.

The vent windows are good driver quality.

I found the small trim in the trunk.

I can see why the steering wheel is so popular. It's a really cool design. Unfortunately this steering wheel is a little busted up. It is a good parts wheel.

You have to sacrifice some old cars in order to fix others. Good donor parts are much better than the reproduction parts that are made overseas. This car has some rust issues and I can't sell the bumper, or the doors, or the fenders. I'm trying, but nobody wants them. And I can't say that I blame them, they need work. I imagine they'll end up at the scrap yard someday. It's just how it is.

But!!! It did provide some much needed trim pieces for my personal build. Pieces I haven't been able to find at an affordable price for over two years now.

The radiator support looks great, the cowl is in great shape as well (some rust through at the base of the windshield, its' a very small amount) . Once the motor is sold I'll cut the cowl out and get it ready for someone to purchase. The frame will also be availible soon.

Frame $375.00
Cowl $300.00
Radiator Support $250.00

from what I can see, that front bumper can be rechromed and come out great. as part of the rechroming process they will straighten it. rust holes is another story, can still be fixed will just cost more.

is the motor being parted out or sold as a complete unit?

I agree with you on the bumper. It's a good core.

I am selling this motor complete. It's a nice running motor. I drove the car into the shop.

I do have motors I can pull parts from. What do you need?

A supreme with a F85 hood? Guess either the hood or the door panels were changed at some point. Likely the hood as it has more sign of being a C/S then a F85. Or I need to be schooled on what did and did not get the flat hood?

How are the interior white A pillars? If good how much.
Hows the shifter plate? I assume its a 2 speed?
By the looks of the firewall this an AC car. Any of the horizontal duct work under the dash in tact? I need the one above the drivers well.
Do you have the 2 plastic outer wings that attach to the front air dam baffle? I need at least one mint one but two mint will do. Dont remember which side is bad on mine.

Is that the 2 piston front disc brake set up?

Looks like a solid car. Hows the frame and main body?

I'm pretty sure the Supreme and F-85 shared the same flat hood.

442 and Cutlass S got the vent cowl hood with the only difference between the two being the Cutlass S has the "oldsmobile" script on the drivers side and the emblem in the center.

Thanks Ally. All I know is you don't see many flat hoods. Wasn't real sure what the application was. One wouldn't think the top of the line C/S would share the bottom line hood? But the 442 and S having the bulged hood does makes sense.
Sick of this winter yet!

I sent Dean a PM.

One of the white a-arm pillars is good, the other has a crack or two. $25.00 for both
Will a 72 shifter plate work for you?

I'll check on the outer wings and the duct work later today.

The frame is nice. I am asking $375.00 for the bare frame.
The body is rough, rust and hidden bondo.
Solid floors and cowl. The roof is trash as are the rear quarters.

The back up lights sold as soon as I posted the ad. Sorry guys.

Always looking for a 67-69 3 speed auto shift plate in mint shape. Mines good but not mint. 70-72 wont work. Interested in the ducts on both sides if mint, same for the air dam wings. What I have is good but always on the look out for mint.

I owe some folks some answers to their questions. Between the winter weather and road trips to pick up cars and parts, I haven't had the time to get back with everyone.
I'll be in the shop tomorrow with my note cards and I'll get everyone's questions answered then.

No vent ducts.
No wings under the radiator support.
The bumper bolts came off in good shape. They were a pain to get off without cutting them. It took about an hour. $30.00 for the set

Thanks
Tom
